Livestrong Day Philippines 2011 Is One of More Than 1,000 Global Events Supporting Cancer Survivors on LIVESTRONG™ DAY

WHAT: Livestrong Day Philippines 2011 Run-Race-Ride “Wear Yellow Day”

Livestrong Day Philippines 2011 will support LIVESTRONG Day worlwide, a one-day initiative to unite people affected by cancer and raise awareness and funds for the cancer fight.

On October 2, more than 1,000 LIVESTRONG Day events will take place in communities around the world in an effort to raise awareness and funds to support the fight against cancer.

WHO: Cancer supporters, survivors, celebrity bikers & runners

WHY: Cancer kills more people globally than AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined and will become the leading cause of death in 2010. Together, we will make cancer a global priority and end needless death and suffering from the disease. We can find innovative ways to raise awareness, support people affected by cancer and end the stigma that many survivors face.

By holding our own Livestrong Day event in the Philippines, we hope to support the global awareness initiative and at the same time support a local cancer foundation.
